Molto

A LOT OF/LOTS OF + -

Used with countable and uncountable nouns. The most natural way to use 'a lot of' or 'lots of' is in positive sentences, however, they can also be used in negative and interrogative sentences.

Si usa con nomi che si possono contare e nomi che non si possono contare. Il modo più naturale è di usare queste forme in frasi affirmative, ma possono anche essere usate in frasi negative ed interrogative.

Example/Esempio: There is a lot of traffic. C'è molto traffico.

MUCH - ?

'Much' is always singular, therefore used for uncountable nouns only and only in negative and interrogative sentences.

'Much' è singolare e quindi si usa solo con nomi che non si possono contare e solamente frasi negative ed interrogative.

Example/Esempio:

There isn't much salt.

Non c'è molto sale.

MANY - ?

'Many' is always plural and therefore used for countable nouns only and only in negative and interrogative sentences.

'Many' è sempre plurale e quindi si usa con nomi che si possono contare e solamente frasi negative ed interrogative.

Example/Esempio:

There aren't many apples.

Non ci sono molte mele.

VERY + - ?

Used with adjectives in the positive, negative and interrogative forms.

Si usa con aggettivi con ogni frase, affermativa, negativa e interrogativa.

Example:Esempio: It's very hot. Fa molto caldo.

Some nouns are irregular. Here below are 4 common ones:

Alcuni sostantivi sono irregolari. Qui sotto ci sono 4 communi:

Money - In English this is always singular.

Information - In English this is always singular.

Hair - In English this is always singular.

People - In English people are always plural.
