 Present continuous for future
Il gerundio presente per indicare il futuro

We use Present Continuous to indicate the future when talking about personal arrangements and plans that have been made. It is used in a similar way to 'going to'.
Usiamo il gerundio per indicare il futuro quando parliamo di piani che sono già  stati prefissati. È usato in un modo simile a 'going to'.

Example/Esempio:
He's meeting his boss later this afternoon.
Incontrerà il suo capo più tardi questo pomeriggio.
Note: With the verb 'to go' we rarely say 'going to go'
Nota:Con il verbo 'to go' raramente diciamo 'going to go'
Examples/Esempi:I am going to go to the park - this sounds a little clumsy. It's more natural to say 'I'm going to the park later today.'
I am going to go to the park - questo suona un po' goffo. È più naturale dire: 'I'm going to the park later today.'
I'm going to the dentist tomorrow. Andrò dal dentista domani.
